Day 01 Paro arrival
Arrival Paro from Bangkok/Delhi/Kolkatta/ Kathmandu. Paro is the only international airport in Bhutan. People enetering Bhutan by flight have to land at Paro only and there is no other airport to enter Bhutan.
Day 02 Thimphu Tour
Thimphu has an area of 1809 Sq.Km with elevation from 1300 meters to over 7300 meters. Your days starts with visit to 13 arts and crafts School where old crafts is still preserved by training the students. You can watch them live performing their skills. You are not suppose to disturb them.
After lunch visit the Craft Bazar where you can shop varieties of Bhutanese handicrafts at local price. In the evening walk around the Thimphu city. Over Night at Hotel.
Day 03 Thimphu Hiking
Today is a special day. You will be hiking the beautiful Phajoding Monastery. The monastery was first visited by Lam Phajo. One of the main temple you see over the cliff was built by 9th abbot of Bhutan Sakya Rinchen (1744-55). The hike takes about 3 hours starting from BBS tower till the top of the monastery. Upon reaching the temple you can visit the temple and talk with monks there at the temple. Further hike takes you to the top of the mountain. The Mountains offers the amazing view of Thimphu valley. Pack lunch will be provided.
After lunch return back to Thimphu city. In the evening visit the cafe and enjoy the Night life. Over night at Hotel.
Day 04 Thimphu to Punakha
Punakha is 2 hours leisure drive from Thimphu. Punakha is also the old capital of Bhutan and place where first King of Bhutan was elected by the people of Bhutan. Punakha is very important for the people of Bhutan because many historic events like first national assembly, crowning of First King of Bhutan have taken place in Punakha Dzong. Visit this historic Punakha Dzong located between two rivers Pho Chu and Mo Chu.
In the morning visit Chimi Lhakhang which honors the Lama Drukpa Kuenley revered across the Him,alayas as the ” Devine Madman”.
Day 05 Punakha Mochu River Rafting
White river rafting at Punakha is very popular. Punakha is the only place where professional river rafting is done. In the afternoon visit Talo Goenpa founded by Chogtruel Jigme Singye (1742-89). Talo is the village of four Queens of Bhutan.
Day 06 Punakha to Gangtey Trip
Today we go to Gangtey the valley where rare Bird Black necked crane flies from Central Asia of Tibet and circles around the village. The birds can be seen from November to march before they migrate to Tibet again.Enjoy the sights of wide valley that reminiscent typical Tibetan plateau. Over night at Hotel Dewachen.
Day 07 Gangtey to Paro
Gangtey to Paro is 5 hours Journey. The trip crosses two mountain passes of Pelela and Dochula. Upon reaching the Paro valley visit the Drugyel Dzong. Paro is small fertile valley in central Bhutan Bhutans only international airport.The tranquil and unpolluted Paro valley is one of the most properous in Bhutan characterised by ornate three storied farm houses with shingle roofs and beautiful forest of blue pine. The valley extends from the wang river confluence at chuzom, following the paro chu upstream to the airport and rinpung Dzong, from where it divides into two: the main Paro valley leading northwest to Drugyel Dzong and Jumolhari base camp, and Dopshari, a very rural sites valley. Explore the Paro deeply. Evening at Hotel.
Day 08 Paro Tiger Nest Hike
Early morning is best to Hike the temple as there is hardly anyone on the route. Hike the most secret temple of Bhutan founded in the 6th century by great saints Padmashambhava who visited from Tibet. The temple lies at an altitude of 2500M above sea level and takes about 3 hours to reach. You can also take a horse ride but it is always better to walk since you will enjoy it more on a solo trip. In the afternoon visit farmhouse and enjoy the local delicacy and local wine. OverNight at Hotel.
Day 09 Paro to aiport or Phuntsholing see off
9 Days Bhutan Tour ends here. Today you leave the country. If you have afternoon flight we shall include few programs before taking the flight
